Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Charter Broker?
A charter broker assists you with all aspects of private jet travel, arranging the aircraft, ground transportation, catering and any special needs requested.

Will we have privacy?
Confidentiality is a top priority with OICG and the aircraft operators we choose. We understand your needs of privacy and staying out of the “lime light”.

Aren't all charter operators the same? Shouldn't I just choose the lowest priced option like I do with the airlines?
No. Charter operators have varying levels of standards, maintenance quality, crew quality etc. Like most things, you pay for what you get. Higher quality operators should provide services for a fair price, but price alone should not be the only decision criterion.

One way or round trip?
This comes down to where the aircraft are based and popularity of destinations. There are some occasions where you can charter a one way flight (New York City to Los Angleles). On the other hand if you are wanting to charter from Gillette, Wyoming to Charlotte, North Carolina you will have to pay for a round trip or at least the cost to get the aircraft back to its base.

What is included in the charter price?
Each flight can differ from the next when it comes to price. There are many variables in the price, hourly rate of the aircraft, catering, flight attendant (if needed or requested) landing fees, deicing, and handling fees.

What are my payment options?
OICG prefers  payment by wire transfer or by  certified check within 48 hours. OICG will ask for a credit card to secure your charter with the operator as a deposit.  There will be a 4% service charge for payments made with a credit card.

What is Repositioning Fee?
A fee charged in the instance of a charter operator having to fly a jet from a different airport to pick up a customer. This happened when the required aircraft is not available at the home airport (usually during one-ways/ empty legs).

What are scheduling limits for the aircraft and crew for long range and same day round trips?
Pilots have strict duty times that are mandated by federal law (which is a good thing). So, you might see a different crew bringing you back on your return same day trip. There are aircraft that can take you from one place in the world to any other place in the world non-stop. The big restriction is crew rest, so there might be more than one crew on board to give adequate rest for each crew memeber.

What are our catering options?
OICG will honor any request for catering, whether it be a pepperoni pizza or lobster bisque.

Ground Transportation?
OICG can and will arrange transportation to and from your departure and arrival airports. That includes limousines, helicopters, rental cars etc... We will make sure it is there when you arrive.

How safe are the aircraft?
All the aircraft are FAA certified and maintained. The aircraft have all the safety equipment needed whether it is flying over land or water.

Will I be able to bring all my baggage and equipment?
There usually is not a problem with your baggage. As long as the baggage and equipment fits with in the cargo area of the aircraft and there are not any weight issues, there should be no problem.

What are the key factors I should look at when chartering an aircraft?
Safety is always number one. (www.faa.gov is available to anyone to research a charter company and its safety record). OICG does the safety research for you. OICG will only book you on a charter that they would for their own children.
